comes from Malaspina and is sent on an envelope Barbarigo official whose name was removed with purple ink. E 'franked with four stamps from 50 cents in the Imperial series. The price is in excess of 25 cents. The stamp of the censor is purple. The recommendation includes plaque, written in pencil, Base BX and in block number one. At the back of the envelope

23.9.40 publishing the text of the report made by Dr. Enzo Diena in Rome January 16, 1984

I have looked at the envelope sent by registered mail from the office of military submarine Alessandro Malaspina, 15.9.40, to Livorno, franked with four copies of the stamp of Italy, 1929, "Imperial", 50 cents. There is overwritten on the label recommendation 1, with handwritten "Base BX (Base = Boredeaux) in indelible pencil. The stamps are canceled in purple with a date stamp "R. Nave-Malaspina-". A photographic reproduction is here united. In my opinion, the original envelope and stamp the perfect item, dating from the intrcorso short period between the establishment of the Italian naval base at Bordeaux (August 1940) and the establishment of the office equipped with the stamp "Group IX submarines" (October 1940) it is expected that the first recommendation sent from the base of Bordeaux. I signed "E. Diena" because of its rarity.
