I have looked at the envelope sent by registered mail from the office of military submarine Alessandro Malaspina, 15.9.40, to Livorno, franked with four copies of the stamp of Italy, 1929, "Imperial", 50 cents. There is overwritten on the label recommendation 1, with handwritten "Base BX (Base = Boredeaux) in indelible pencil. The stamps are canceled in purple with a date stamp "R. Nave-Malaspina-". A photographic reproduction is here united.
